Linkable learner resource

Driving instructor resource for test swaps

A simple resource for instructors who want to help pupils understand test swaps safely without sharing sensitive details online.

A safer resource for pupils

Many learners search for earlier driving tests in groups or direct messages, but not every pupil understands what details they should avoid sharing. This page gives instructors a simple resource to send to pupils who ask about swaps.

Exchange Driving Tests does not ask pupils for DVSA login details, driving licence numbers, theory certificate numbers, payment details or money for a swap.

Useful for pupils who are not ready

Driving instructors may have pupils with practical tests booked too soon. Those learners may want a later date, and their earlier test could be useful to another learner who is ready.

The site helps check whether there may be a learner-to-learner date exchange, while keeping details private until both people agree.

Suggested wording for pupils

You can copy this short explanation if a pupil asks about the site:

Exchange Driving Tests is a free learner-to-learner driving test date exchange pilot. It does not access DVSA, does not book or change tests, and does not ask for login, licence, theory certificate or payment details. It only checks whether another learner may want the opposite date movement.

Link to the checker

Send pupils to the 10 working day checker before they discuss any possible swap.

Link to the safety guide

Use the swap safety guide to explain what details pupils should not share.

Link to the test-too-soon guide

Use the test-too-soon guide for pupils who want more time to prepare.

Interested in being listed later?

As the pilot grows, Exchange Driving Tests may add local driving instructor resource sections on centre pages. For now, the focus is safety, trust and proving the learner-to-learner matching process.

Email hello@exchangedrivingtests.co.uk if you are a driving instructor and want to give feedback.

Common questions

Can instructors use this to change tests for pupils?

No. Learners must stay in control of their own driving test. The site only provides a matching and safety resource.

Should I link to this from my driving school website?

If you find it useful for pupils, linking to the checker or safety guide is welcome. The pages are designed as learner safety resources.

Can my pupils use it for free?

Yes. The current pilot is free for learners.

Want to check for a possible test date exchange?

Submit your practical test details for free. Your listing is manually reviewed, your email is not displayed publicly, and no details are shared unless both learners agree first.
