Driving test swap safety
Safety guide for learners looking for a driving test swap. Learn what details not to share, how to avoid scams, and why private matching is safer than public groups.
Details you should not share publicly
Be careful in Facebook groups, WhatsApp groups and direct messages. A genuine learner-to-learner match should not require you to hand over sensitive information to strangers.
- Do not share your DVSA login details.
- Do not share your driving licence number publicly.
- Do not share your theory certificate number publicly.
- Do not send payment card details.
- Do not pay a stranger for a test slot.
How this site reduces exposure
Exchange Driving Tests asks for first name, email, current test centre, current test date and preferred date range. Listings are not displayed as public adverts and your email is not shown on a centre page.
If there may be a possible match, both learners are contacted separately first. Details are not shared unless both people agree.
Warning signs
Be cautious if someone promises a guaranteed earlier test, asks for payment before explaining the process, says they can access DVSA for you, pressures you to act immediately, or asks for sensitive booking details without a clear reason.
Exchange Driving Tests is a free pilot and is not affiliated with DVSA. You should always check official guidance before proceeding.
Questions
Is a WhatsApp group safer?
Not always. WhatsApp groups can be useful, but group members can normally see each other's phone numbers. A private matching flow can reduce public exposure.
Do you show my listing publicly?
No. Your submitted listing is used for manual matching and is not posted as a public advert.
What if I am worried about a listing?
Email hello@exchangedrivingtests.co.uk and do not share any sensitive details until you are comfortable.
Ready to check for a possible match?
Submit your current practical test details for free. Your listing is manually reviewed, your email is not shown publicly, and no learner details are shared unless both people agree first.
